Mission

The mission of Ashford Housing Authority is to provide safe, decent and affordable housing that fosters stability and increase self-sufficiency for elderly and disabled individuals with low to moderate income.

Pompey Hollow Senior Housing

Est. 1994

The Ashford Housing Authority was created by the Board of Selectmen in October 21. 1987. Shortly thereafter they began working the long journey into building the much needed housing for seniors and the disabled. The Pompey Senior Housing groundbreaking was on May 19, 1993 and it was completed in June 1994. The first two residents, one of which still resides here, moved in July 1994.

The Quiet Corner

Pompey Senior Housing is located in a very beautiful, rural setting but it is also a 15-20 minute drive to everything you may need. 

To the north you can visit Stafford, a former mill town with a quaint village feeling. They have lots of small shops, restaurants, and grocery stores, as well as many antique shops. Stafford Speedway is located here with races on Friday’s during the season. This is also the location of Johnson Memorial Hospital.

To the East you can head towards Killingly for more shopping, home to many shopping plazas with both big stores and mom and pop stores. or you could head up to Putnam for their famous antiquing.  This is the location of Day Kimball Hospital.

To the south Willimantic, “Thread City’ is a bustling city area with just about everything; they have parades and a new concert venue.  It’s also the location of the closest DMV and Windham Hospital.

To the West you can head to Vernon or Manchester for shopping malls, or continue on to Hartford. Rockville Memorial is in Vernon, Manchester Hospital is in Manchester, and Hartford has Hartford Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.
